A well-designed blind trial was performed by Accelerated Genetics in recent months and then the results were evaluated by Dr. Kent Weigel Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In addition an extensive field study gathered data from various types of herd management settings across the country.

What are the results of the Bovitel semen trials?
Actual field trial results show that 100 pregnancies with Bovitel semen will yield an additional 10 heifer calves as compared to non-gender-bias semen.

How reliable is the data from the trials?
The gender-bias achieved while using Bovitel was statistically significant at less than 0.05 (P<0.05). Therefore these results show that the gender-bias is highly reliable and consistent.

Can Bovitel semen be used on both cows and heifers?
Yes. Bovitel semen can be used on both cows and heifers. Existing sexed semen technologies currently available on the market are only recommended for use on heifers not cows.

Does Bovitel semen contain the Affirm technology?
Yes. The Affirm enhanced fertility technology has been incorporated into Bovitel giving it normal to above-normal conception rates when compared to conventional semen. When compared to sexed semen products on the market Bovitel has demonstrated superior conception rates.

What is gender-bias semen?
Gender-bias semen will result in more heifer calves therefore increasing a herds heifer ratio. The gender-bias process applied to Bovitel semen results in an increasing likelihood of producing heifers without damaging semen quality.

Yes. Like conventional A.I. semen Bovitel semen can be used in breeding protocols on organic dairies.
