ASAP® Updates
ASAP® Update Released (February 2006)
The latest version of the ASAP® program released in February 2006 brings big answers for big questions requested by customers in regard of ASAP® flexibility to create different reports. In this update you will find the following features:
Metritis status:
One more status that you can use for special care groups (TLC).
Insynch statuses:
ASAP® users have used Insynch status to sort a group of cows after the veterinary pregnancy check in order to create a specific protocol for these animals. For example if you have two open cows with more that 120 DIM you do not want to enroll these cows in Presynch because of the duration of the program. If you leave them under the open status they will be included along with all other open cows in the next synchronization program that you build. However you can sort them by placing them under Insynch status. Therefore you can select a specific program (e.g. Cosynch 48) from the protocol builder and select animals to be synchronized from the Insych group on the same screen so when the protocol is built no other cows will be included. To give you even more flexibility this new version of ASAP® has three Insynch statuses (Insynch Insynch 1 and Insynch 2). Now you can sort animals in three different groups to make different management decisions or to build three synchronization programs on the same day. Just make sure to assign a different ID number for each group.
Breeds:
Now you can enter dairy or beef breeds in the individual cow file.
Custom Report:
This feature was added for ASAP® users who wanted more flexibility to create different reports. With this new version you can customize your own report by selecting and sorting the animals you want to print from a selection of three different menus. Then you may have an onscreen preview of the report. This new feature will allow you to access the report information without using a printer if don"t want to. You must make one selection in each box for the report to run. The only exception is if you select All Animals in the first box no other selection will be needed in the second box.
First box:
Where to select animals from (e.g. Pen)
Second box:
Subgroups found in the selection you made in the first box (e.g. Pen 1 2 3 and 4)
Third box:
Sorting order (e.g. by DIM or ID etc.)
You can also select ascending or descending order in the report. All custom reports come with the following information for each cow: Id Pen number Current status Synch group Reproduction status DSB DIM Production status Last activity and average days open for the selected animals. After preview the printing process is the same as for any other report.
For sure you will find this update very useful to facilitate your reproduction management. For additional information on the ASAP program please contact Humberto Rivera or call 800-451-9275.
